Wes Naylor is a visionary leader in the use of next-generation technologies and their application within the military and commercial sectors. Following a successful 27-year career as a naval officer, Wes transitioned into the entrepreneurial and academic domains as the CEO of Helicon Chemical Company, Founder and CEO of Fifty Pound Brains, LLC, and a member of the graduate faculty at the University of Central Florida. He specializes in discovering and accelerating technologies that have both public and private sector utility. In his role as CEO of Helicon Chemical Company, he is helping transform the rocket fuel industry. His expertise and results have led to future projects for the White House, the Department of Defense, and the military.

Dr. David Reid
Chief Technology Officer
David Reid is Co-Founder and CTO of Helicon Chemical Company. He received his PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Central Florida, where he specialized in energetic and reactive materials. He also received the prestigious AVS National Student Award for his contributions to the field of nanotechnology. He has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific journal articles, conference proceedings, and patents. In 2018, he was honored with the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the UCF College of Engineering and Computer Science. At Helicon, David directs the company’s technology vision and is responsible for the product development team’s successful efforts in technology commercialization.
Mr. David Simmons
Chief Financial Officer
David Sammons has diversified experience in public and private business contract negotiation and valuation. He was a founding partner of Neff, Sammons, and Johnson, specializing in government contracting, financial analysis, earned value management, accounting and tax services. He recently retired from DZYNE Technologies Incorporated, a government contracting business focused on unmanned aircraft vehicle design, control, and manufacturing where he was the CFO from “day one” through the company’s sale to Highlander Partners, L.P., a leading private equity firm. Prior to working at DZYNE Technologies, he most recently was the Controller for SET Corporation in Arlington, VA. SET, was a small, privately owned business founded in 2002 by scientists from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). In his role as Controller and interim CFO, he was instrumental in guiding a $3M enterprise into a $60M business that eventually was purchased by SAIC.
