HELICON CHEMICAL COMPANY PRESENTS AT NAVY FORUM FOR SBIR/STTR TRANSITION EVENT

On 28 April, Helicon will participate in The Navy Forum for SBIR/STTR Transition (FST) event, the NAVWAR FST Day. Navy FST events are a part of the Navy’s SBIR/STTR Transition Program (STP), whose mission is to provide commercialization, technology transition, and professional business assistance to Department of Navy (DoN)-funded SBIR/STTRs through a structured program to best position technologies for transition.

Navy FST focused technology events promote companies participating in the Navy STP, connecting these small businesses with government and industry personnel through on-demand Tech Talks presentations and Meet the Experts one-on-one meetings via web chat. Additionally, these companies have an enhanced online presence though the Navy STP and FST Virtual Transition Marketplace (VTM). The VTM provides additional information on Navy technology topics for small businesses participating in the program.

Helicon is excited to participate in the event and present our ongoing research collaboration with the Navy to develop high-performance, insensitive fuels for solid fuel ramjet (SFRJ) systems containing Helicon’s in situ grown aluminum nanoparticles formed directly in polymer solutions. Since SFRJ is a competitive solution for tactical systems requiring long range and high speeds, the technology is applicable to multiple weapons including hypersonic applications. Achievements include testing in a ramjet combustor, validating performance in a realistic prototype; and manufacturing process scale-up to support future large-scale testing.
Helicon Chemical Company was founded to commercialize recent advances in composite materials manufacturing technology. Helicon is developing and demonstrating prototype nanostructured materials for aerospace propulsion systems, munitions, and environmental applications for our government and commercial customers.
