Orlando, FL, Dec 08, 2023 – Helicon Chemical is pleased to announce that David Sammons, an experienced accounting, business management and growth advisor, has been hired as the company’s first Chief Financial Officer.Sammons has diversified experience in public and private business contract negotiation and valuation. He was a founding partner of Neff, Sammons, and Johnson, specializing in government contracting, financial analysis, earned value management, accounting and tax services. He recently retired from DZYNE Technologies Incorporated, a government contracting business focused on unmanned aircraft vehicle design, control, and manufacturing where he was the CFO from “day one” through the company’s sale to Highlander Partners, L.P., a leading private equity firm.
“At this point in my career I am blessed to be able to be selective about which teams I join and advise. I can’t think of a better opportunity to put my experience and passion to work than for a company like Helicon. Their game changing rocket propellant additives will not only improve our national security, but their developing capacitor and battery work has the potential to change how we think about and pay for power storage.”
– David Sammons, Helicon Chief Financial Officer
Prior to working at DZYNE Technologies, he most recently was the Controller for SET Corporation in Arlington, VA. SET, was a small, privately owned business founded in 2002 by scientists from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). In his role as Controller and interim CFO, he was instrumental in guiding a $3M enterprise into a $60M business that eventually was purchased by SAIC.
“We knew immediately that David was the person we had to have on the team. In addition to having an outstanding reputation for strong financial control, he is an excellent communicator with the ability to build strong company, partner and client relationships–both within and outside of the government. It’s one thing to simply grow dual-use technology, it’s another thing to grow the business responsibly in a way that meets the needs of the employees, investors and our customers–David allows us to do all of these things. We couldn’t be happier to have him on our team.”
